
NOTICE: I highly recommend using Mikiztli's excellent (although unrelated) Nifty SMGs mod along
with this mod, because this mod will replace the stock carbines with weapons which cost more TUs.
I decided to replace them because they become completely redundant with this mod and Nifty SMGs.

This mod is an overhaul of the stock shotgun and "carbines". It replaces the ballistic shotgun
with one which fires 00 Buckshot with 9 pellets (instead of a ridiculous 3) and does a similar
thing with the unlockable carbines. I intend to keep these weapons non-overpowered, so they have
very low accuracy and damage per pellet, but their max damage is pretty high. They require 35% of
TUs to fire instead of 28%, and on average seem to score about 2 pellet hits per shot near their
maximum range, but they can totally still miss entirely. I haven't been able to come up with
any good reason to lower or remove their reaction bonus, it just allows them to remain effective
close range weapons, I think the TU cost nerfs them enough. Feel free to give me feedback and/or
suggest changes. I have had a lot of fun with this mod already and I hope others will, too.
Don't forget to bring a shotgun.

WHAT THIS MOD CHANGES

Replaces stock carbines

Original Scatter Laser (heavy laser) changed to Rotary Laser to avoid having the same name as the
laser "shotgun". Its stats are unchanged. Also changed the text in the heavy lasers research
description.

Damage=12 per pellet x 9 pellets.
35% TUs 18acc x 9pellets

Scatter Laser (What else could one possibly name a laser shotgun?)
Damage=15 per ray x 10 rays.
35% TUs 18acc x 10 rays.

Plasma Emitter
Damage=20 per round x 10 rounds
35% TUs 18acc x 10 rounds

Damage=30 per pellet x 10 pellets
